Coronation Day in Thailand
Coronation day is official holiday in Thailand with fixed date 5 May. It commemorates the coronation of King Rama IX who ascended the throne in 5th May 1950. On the Coronation day Thai people express their loyalty to the King. Food is offered to the monks and then comes the celebration of the Royal Regalia. The Royal Army and Navy fire a 21-gun salute in honour of His Majesty the King.
